Centene Issues Revised Press Release Regarding Indiana Managed Care Contract Actions Today

ST. LOUIS, June 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) today was notified that the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) has invited Managed Health Services (MHS) and two other vendors to initiate contract negotiations for a statewide managed care contract effective January 1, 2011.  If contract negotiations are successful MHS would serve Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) members.  Earlier today Centene issued a press release that incorrectly described the state's awarding of the managed care contract.

"Centene is pleased to continue providing quality healthcare services and programs to Indiana residents, as we have done for 15 years in the market," said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael F. Neidorff.  "We look forward to bringing our unique experience serving uninsured individuals to Indiana.  We have a core belief that every individual has the right to receive quality healthcare at an affordable price."
