LOUIS, June 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) today was notified that the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) has awarded Managed Health Services (MHS), Centene's Indiana subsidiary, a renewed and expanded statewide managed care contract, effective January 1, 2011.  Under the new agreement, MHS will continue to serve Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) members.  

MHS currently serves 211,400 members enrolled in Hoosier Healthwise, the state's health insurance program for children, pregnant women, and low-income families.  HIP is the state's program for uninsured adults who earn less than 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL), do not have access to employer sponsored health insurance coverage and have been uninsured for the previous six months.
