Centene Corporation Appoints Marie J. Glancy Vice President of Government Relations

ST. LOUIS, Jul 21, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Centene Corporation (Nasdaq:CNTE) today announced the appointment of Marie J. Glancy as Vice President of Government Relations and Director of the Company's Washington, D.C. office, effective immediately. Glancy will direct the day-to-day activities of the office and serve as the Company's primary interface with national and state regulators and report to Centene's President and Chief Executive Officer, Michael F. Neidorff.

Glancy joins Centene from John Deere Public Affairs Worldwide, where she served as Manager of State Public Affairs in Illinois, Wisconsin and Tennessee. In this position, she represented the company's healthcare issues at the federal level and successfully built strong effective relationships with government agencies and legislators and their staffs. Glancy designed and directed the implementation of the first Medicare+Choice HMO in Eastern Tennessee and Southern Virginia, and formulated and implemented the first Medicare Cost HMO in the Iowa and Illinois Mississippi Valley region. She was awarded commendations by the Federal Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services from 1997 to 2001.
